Profile
Ruth Cotto-Silva, Ed.D., was born in Puerto Rico where she completed her education from kindergarden to a bachelor's degree in business education from the University of Puerto Rico. She went on to complete her master's degree with an emphasis in second language teaching, which helped her with her position at Ohio University. It was there that Cotto-Silva became the coordinator of Spanish programs, which required her to provide training to beginning teachers. Later Cotto-Silva became involved in the field of school psychology where she worked with minority students and strived to be a fair psychologist making sure the students she worked with were receiving appropriate eveluatoins that clearly identified their potential. Cotto-Silva currently works at Azusa Pacific University as an assistant professor of counseling and school psychology.
