Richard S. Martinez, Ed. D. serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Education. With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership his professional expertise is based on over 25 years of experience in public school education. Richard’s background includes his experiences as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, County Office Director of Program Delivery, School Leadership Center Executive Director, Adjunct Professor of Masters and Doctorate programs (Pepperdine University and Cal Lutheran University), and as a Coordinator for the Administrative Academy in the Los Angeles Unified School District. His expertise includes knowledge of curriculum, instruction, design, facilitation, and management of school reform models. Using his knowledge of adult learning theory and a standards-based curriculum, Richard has designed, coordinated, and facilitated educational seminars nationally. Richard is the co-author of the best selling Corwin Press book Culturally Proficient Coaching: Supporting Educators to Create Equitable Schools. He has presented seminars on diversity and coaching at conferences including the National Staff Development Council, Pegasus Systems Conference, The HOPE Foundation, Azusa Pacific University Christians on Diversity in the Academy National Conference, and the Association of California School Administrators.
