Teri Marcos, Ed.D., joined the Azusa Pacific University faculty in 2000. She received her doctorate from the University of La Verne, in La Verne, California, on the effects of legislated educational reform on student achievement in California public schools from 1973-2003. Prior to coming to APU, Dr. Marcos served for nineteen years as a junior high school educator in the Chino Valley Unified School District. She is interested in Strengths-Based teaching, school leadership, and learning, as well as the educational reform measures which affect education in the state and the nation as a whole. Dr. Marcos is currently researching the effects of Strengths-Based theories on student achievement in the U.S. and is concerned with creating and sustaining engaged constructivist school cultures throughout California's P-12 public school system.
