Graduation
The responsibility for meeting all graduation requirements rests upon the individual student. Failure to meet deadlines will result in delayed posting of degree.
Intent to Graduate
Graduation is not automatic upon completion of all coursework. Students who intend to graduate must complete an Intent to Graduate form and file it with the associate registrar in the Office of the Graduate Registrar at least 60 days prior to commencement.
Academic and Financial Clearance
All degree requirements must be met before academic clearance will be granted to participate in the commencement ceremonies. Financial responsibilities to the university must be satisfied before academic clearance will be granted.
Commencement Exercises
Commencement exercises are held at the end of the fall semester, the end of the spring semester, and the end of the summer session. The university president, by the authority of the trustees and on recommendation of the faculty, awards the degrees. Details regarding the exercises are mailed to prospective participants. In order to participate in the commencement exercises, all financial obligations to the university must be met.

“The special education program at APU develops you as a teacher and a person. The subject matter is integrated with Christian beliefs, making the education extremely personal. By example, I have learned how to weave my own faith into my teaching, even at a public school. I now pray over my class and each of their seats, and it has impacted my students greatly.”
