Overview

The Mild/Moderate Disabilities Specialist Preliminary Credential, Intern provides coursework specifically designed for the candidate with full-time teaching employment and subject-matter competence in an appropriate setting in a public K–12 or private WASC-approved K–12 school. This assignment must be verified and approved by the program director prior to course registration.

APU also offers a Mild/Moderate Disabilities Specialist Preliminary Credential, Non-Intern for the candidate who is not teaching full-time in a school and/or who lacks subject-matter competence. Candidates must see an advisor for proper placement in tracks within this credential program.

Azusa Pacific University receives accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In addition, the School of Education receives accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), making APU one of only three private schools in California with this distinction.
