Which teaching credential program is right for you?

Single Subject Teaching Credential, Non-Intern

The Single Subject Teaching Credential, Non-Intern Program prepares teachers for positions at the middle and high school levels (7–12) in all subjects, and K–12 specialists in art, music, and physical education.

The Non-Intern option is specifically designed for the candidate who is not teaching full time and who lacks subject-matter competence. This track is also appropriate for adults making career changes, as well as for those who are teaching without fulfilling subject-matter competence.

Single Subject Teaching Credential, Intern

The Single Subject Teaching Credential, Intern Program prepares teachers for positions at the middle and high school levels (7–12) in all subjects, and K–12 specialists in art, music, and physical education.

The Intern option is for teacher candidates who are employed teaching full time in a public K–12, or WASC-approved K–12 private school in a setting and assignment approved as appropriate for that credential by the credential advisor. Intern candidates must have completed their subject-matter requirements.
