About Eiro

The Eiro Project involves the adoption of a new web-based administrative system, PeopleSoft 9.0, which not only supports the core functions of the university, but also allows departments to work together more closely to serve students. This project represents an exciting step forward in offering service that transforms lives, while bringing together APU's diverse community.

This new Oracle-PeopleSoft system serves APU's people-centered needs, while offering the university the advantage of operating with innovative, cutting-edge technology. Since 1993, APU has utilized IFAS (Integrated Financial and Administration System), with an upgrade 10 years later. After SunGard restructured their service offerings, they announced that software for student modules would no longer be available as of December 2011, while their accounting software would continue. This prompted the university to find a strong alternative that overcomes present challenges and meets future needs.

Drawing upon campus representatives from key departments in place since the IFAS migration in 1993, the Client Impact Team (CIT) reviewed the top four solutions. CIT unanimously recommended Oracle-PeopleSoft as the system that most closely fits the university's functional needs.

The Eiro Project allows the university to focus on what it values most—people. Oracle-PeopleSoft offers numerous features that promote growth throughout the APU community by creating better connections with:

  • Alumni
  • Current faculty and staff
  • Current students
  • Prospective faculty and staff
  • Prospective students
  • University friends
The new administrative system also enables the university to exchange a greater volume of information faster, bringing people together and allowing decisions to be made more quickly and effectively.
