Modules

The new software, PeopleSoft 9.0, comprises several components, or modules, each designed for a specific functional area. The Eiro Project involves launching the finance, student administration, customer relationship management (CRM), and human resources modules. In addition, the software provides a new, updated Cougars' Den portal, bringing ease to external and internal communication.

Finance Module

The first to be set live in the Eiro Project, the finance module includes:

Key to the success of other modules, the finance module involves building the core of the new web-based administrative system.

"We get to set up processes that will help the APU community function better," said Sharron Robb, business services manager and functional lead for the finance module. "This project is such an opportunity to serve others better while getting the information we need. Charting this new path is exciting!"

Student Module

The largest aspect of the Eiro Project, the student module includes:

This module lies at the heart of meeting students' needs. It will better equip the university to attract prospective students, interact with them more closely during their time here, and offer them a grounded sense of direction upon their graduation.

Affecting a large number of current APU processes, the student module touches the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, CAPS, and international admission processes, as well as the student record and financial processes related to these groups.

For example, many of the forms processed manually by the Office of the Registrar, including withdrawals, add/drops, incompletes, and instructor permission forms, will be converted into paperless processes, bringing greater convenience and ease to the office's workflow.

This module plays an integral part in advancing the university's Christ-centered mission to attract and retain the best and brightest students, and then prepare them for God's call on their lives.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Module

The customer relationship management (CRM) module uses a customer-centered strategy designed to allow the university to manage nearly every aspect of its relationships with students. The CRM module will offer a centralized way to store student information, assisting APU in its goal of meeting students' needs.

Human Resources Module

The human resources module epitomizes Eiro's people-centered focus, as it better equips the Office of Human Resources to serve the APU community in a variety of capacities from recruiting highly qualified employees to coordinating benefits and providing professional development opportunities. Many hiring processes will be streamlined, increasing efficiency.

Portal

The updated Cougars' Den portal facilitates external and internal communication by serving as the hub to access the new PeopleSoft software and other web-based services used by the university.

The new portal also provides seamless access to student self-service items, including schedules, course listings, and payment histories. Similarly, staff and faculty enjoy a more convenient, fully web-based level of access to the new administrative system through the portal.
