Cougars Win First in Event Center

The Cougars gathered in the recently completed Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center for their first basketball game on the new court December 19. The men's basketball team took on The Master's College in game one of the 13th annual Cougar Classic.

Nineteen months after the May 1999 groundbreaking, the event center officially opened for the commencement ceremonies held on Friday, December 15. Built to seat nearly 4,000 people, the center can host large events, such as community chapels, conventions, concerts, and seminars, as well as athletic competitions.

It was an exciting game, with the men's team defeating
the Master's College 72 to 67 on the new home court.

A large crowd turned out to cheer on the Cougars at
their first game in the Felix Event Center.

The event center houses locker rooms, training rooms, athletic offices, as well as the main competition floor and practice courts for basketball and volleyball. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for January 30.
