Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund Program

This scholarship is open to those of Asian and/or Pacific Island descent. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, national, or legal permanent resident(s) and be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 is required. Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors an annual essay contest that offers 680 prizes and over $99,000 in prize money every year. This award is open to 12th-graders, undergraduate, and graduate students who write an original essay based on the topic provided by the Ayn Rand Institute. California Students Scholarship

Shift Insurance offers a $500 scholarship for California residents age 18–25 enrolled full-time in a California institution. Out-of-state scholars who are new California residents may also apply. Download California Students Scholarship (PDF) for more information.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarship

CHCI’s scholarship opportunities are awarded to Latino students in the United States who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or academic major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply. The award is $5,000. Cross Tuition Scholarship

Cross Tuition is a nonprofit organization that provides grants to students seeking a Christian education. This $1,000 scholarship is open to all Christian graduate students. Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those able to do academic work at the university level and who are part of the progressive movement on campus and in the community. Hearthstone Housing Foundation Scholarship Fund

Hearthstone Housing Foundation, a provider of affordable housing for families of low income, elderly, and the disabled, offers scholarships to develop and empower new generations to achieve their educational endeavors. Hispanic Scholarship

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund/General College Scholarships are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage in obtaining their first undergraduate or graduate college degree. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, and students must submit a FAFSA by February 1. The amount of the awards varies from $1,000–$5,000. Download Hispanic Scholarship (PDF) for more information.

Journey Scholarships

Each month, proceeds from the Manna Foundation are used to award scholarships to outstanding students. This award is for any high school, college, or graduate student who is a U.S. citizen or legal resident, studying any major, and attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university in the U.S. Download Journey Scholarships for more information.

Korean American Scholarship

Applicants must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, demonstrate financial need, and be a full-time student in a school of the designated Western states (per the Korean American Scholarship Foundation’s delineation of regions during the school year). La Unidad Latina Foundation Scholarship

La Unidad Latina Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that supports Hispanic students in their pursuit of a higher education. This scholarship is open to all Hispanic students. Los Angeles Schweitzer Fellows Program

Students enrolled in graduate or professional degree-granting programs from any accredited academic institution in the Los Angeles area may apply. Students’ proposed service project must focus on health and/or the social determinants of health. They must be enrolled throughout the fellowship year (April–May). Media & Technology Blogging Scholarship

Direct2TV.com offers a $1,000 Media & Technology Blogging scholarship to a current or incoming undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited university who writes and publishes a blog post describing his or her interaction with technology, and how technology functions as part of interaction with today’s society. National Italian American Foundation Scholarship Program

Each spring, the National Italian American Foundation awards scholarships and grants to outstanding Italian-American students. Owen Locke Memorial Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship provides tuition, school fees, and books for eligible applicants. Applicants must have limited financial resources available for school and must be ineligible for funding from public or government agencies. Individual career goals and aspirations will be considered. The proposed education must be at an accredited college or university. Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans

This fellowship is offered to graduate students who are considered “new Americans”—naturalized citizens or green card holders. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in the graduate degree program for which they request support and must be 30 years old or younger. San Diego Foundation Scholarships

The San Diego Foundation recognizes that the sustainability and quality of the region depends on a well-educated and experienced workforce. The foundation’s Community Scholarship Program is the largest provider of scholarships in the San Diego region with more than 150 scholarship funds at an average fund size of over $150,000. Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara

Scholarship awards usually range from $500–$5,000 per academic year. Recipients must maintain full-time status and a minimum 2.0 GPA to remain eligible. Recipients are eligible for four years of undergraduate funding and four years of medical/graduate-level funding. Applicants must have attended at least four of the six years between grades 7–12 at a Santa Barbara County school and have graduated or received a GED from a Santa Barbara County high school. Soroptimist International of Los Angeles Graduate Student Fellowship Award

Soroptimist International of Los Angeles is a nonprofit organization focused on helping women. Each year, Soroptimist offers a fellowship to a female graduate/doctoral student in the amount of $3,500. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and California residents attending an accredited master’s or doctoral program in Los Angeles County. One fellowship will be awarded in March or April annually. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority General Graduate Scholarship

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s National Education Foundation offers this scholarship to women pursuing a professional, master’s, doctoral, or post-doctoral degree. Award recipients receive $2,500 for one academic year. Applications are accepted September 1–February 1 annually.
