AFCEA Educational Foundation STEM Scholarships
The Educational Foundation of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association awards 50 scholarships of $5,000 each to students actively pursuing degrees or credentials for the purpose of teaching STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, or math) at a U.S. middle or secondary school. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in at least two classes at an accredited college or university. Barbara A. Cooley Scholarship
The Barbara A. Cooley Scholarship is offered to a graduate student pursuing a degree in health education. The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) is offering this scholarship to a student who demonstrates leadership potential, good academic standing, and involvement in health education related activities. California Mathematics Council Secondary Education Scholarship
The California Mathematics Council (CMC) offers this scholarship to graduate students who are pursuing their single-subject teaching credential in mathematics. Recipients will be invited to receive their scholarship at the CMC’s annual conference. Award amounts range from $100–$2,000. California School Library Association Leadership for Diversity Scholarship
The CSLA Leadership for Diversity Scholarship is offered to graduate students pursuing a degree/credential in school librarianship. Its purpose is to recognize the need for diverse librarians ready to work in California’s multicultural, multilingual population. Recipients will receive $1,500 and will be invited to attend the California School Library Association’s annual conference. Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship
Graduate or undergraduate students must be at an accredited college or university, be interested in working in children’s media, and preferably be from inner-city or rural communities. Coursework in two of the following areas is required: early childhood education, child development/child psychology, film/television production, music, and animation. Isabel M. Herson Scholarship in Education
The Isabel M. Herson Scholarship is offered by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s National Education Foundation. The scholarship is open to graduate students pursuing careers in elementary or secondary education. Applications are accepted September 1–February 1 annually. Marion B. Pollock Fellowship
The Marion B. Pollock Fellowship is open to a graduate student pursuing a degree in health education. The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) offers this fellowship to a student who is currently a teacher in an elementary, middle, or high school. The AAHE evaluates the applicant’s ability to link health needs of children to school health education, teaching experience, professional goals, and potential to advance the practice of school health education. Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship
The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship is offered to graduate students pursuing a degree in physical education. The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) is offering this scholarship to two students who exemplify scholastic proficiency, leadership skills, and community service.
