How do I purchase my cap and gown?
Professional students can purchase their cap and gowns for Spring Commencement during Grad Fest, which takes place March 2 and 3, 2016, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the University Bookstore and online. A discount applies when you purchase Grad Packs during Grad Fest. View the Grad Pack Flyer 2016 (PDF) for prices. After March 3, you can order online through March 25, but no discount applies. Graduates with last-minute clearances may contact the bookstore to place an order. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where do I get my cap and gown?
If you do not choose have your cap and gown shipped to you, they will be available for pickup inside the University Bookstore located on West Campus the week of commencement during our normal business hours. Photo ID is required to pick up your cap and gown. For more information, contact the bookstore at (626) 815-5044 or email@example.com.
Do I need to fill out any paperwork to graduate?
All students intending to graduate (whether or not they plan to participate in the commencement ceremony) are required to file an Intent to Graduate Form in the Office of the Registrar. For further questions, please contact the Graduate and Professional Center at (626) 815-4570.
When can I expect my diploma in the mail?
Diploma cases will be awarded at the commencement ceremony. Diplomas are mailed approximately two to four months after the degree is posted.
What is Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude? What does that mean and what qualifies me for that?
Qualifying students may graduate with the following honors: summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude. The minimum GPA requirements for Latin Honors are as follows:
3.90 – summa cum laude
3.80 – magna cum laude
3.70 – cum laude
All grades accepted toward graduation at Azusa Pacific University are included in the calculation of these honors, including correspondence and transfer classes. All grades not accepted toward graduation at Azusa Pacific University (such as remedial classes) will not be included in the calculation.
What are the benefits of being an alumnus of the university?
Some benefits of being an alumnus of Azusa Pacific University include a 50 percent discount at all athletic events, $1 off all theater productions, and access to the libraries on the campuses of Azusa Pacific University.

How do I obtain my transcripts?
Visit Academic Transcripts to order your transcripts. Transcripts cost $5 each.

When will my degree post?
Degrees should post shortly after final grades and/or transcripts have been received.
Are tickets required for this event?
Yes, tickets are required for all commencement ceremonies. An allotted number of tickets will be distributed to graduating students prior to the commencement ceremony. The allotted number of tickets will be determined by the number of graduates. Therefore, it is subject to change for each ceremony. Additional tickets are not available and cannot be purchased.
Can I purchase a video of the event?
Yes, commencement ceremonies are professionally recorded by APU. You may purchase a personalized DVD for $19.99, plus tax and shipping, at www.bookstore.apu.edu or by calling (800) 933-1950. DVDs will begin shipping June 1.
