About the Office

The Office of Sponsored Research and Grants (OSRG), also known as the Grants Office, supports and encourages APU faculty and staff in preparing and submitting competitive quality proposals.

The Grants Office can assist you in identifying potential private and public funders, editing your proposal, and helping you with partnership and collaborative proposals, both within APU and with other colleges, universities, hospitals, research institutions, and non-profit organizations.

If you are a faculty member wanting OSRG to identify potential funding sources for proposal ideas, please complete a Grant Inquiry Form (PDF) and have it signed by your dean. Next, submit the completed form to Lou Hughes in the Office of Sponsored Research and Grants, which is located at 680 E. Alosta Avenue, Suite 114. We will meet with you to discuss your project and potential funding options. After appropriate funding sources have been identified, the project director will complete the grant application with OSRG, coordinating the submittal process (through APU and to the granting agency, including e-submission through grants.gov).

New or continuing funding requests require the submittal of the Grant Routing Form (PDF) to be routed through the APU signature approval process. Please submit the completed form and proposal to OSRG with the project director/principal investigator and dean’s signatures at least 10 working days prior to the grant deadline. Five of the 10 working days are required for APU’s internal processing, while the other five working days are needed to assure e-submission compliance through grants.gov and federal grant agencies. For a description of APU’s grant process, see the Grant Process Flow (PDF).
