Financial Aid Technician

Undergraduate Student Financial Services

Description

Assists the Financial Aid Officers by printing and packaging all Offer of Assistance letters and other follow-up letters to the students. Responsible for accurately tracking all documents received.

Examples of Duties

  1. Reviews and accurately tracks all original and follow-up documents for accuracy and follows through to verify missing information.
  2. Prints, assembles packets, and mails all Offers of Assistance letters and other correspondence to the students.
  3. Assists in clearing the loan rosters when necessary.
  4. Updates all forms and keeps them stocked.
  5. Supervises student workers for filing, scanning and the mailing of Offer of Assistance packets to student.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education

High school diploma, A.A. degree preferred in related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education).

Experience

Three - five years of related work experience, university setting preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of proper office procedures and skills. Familiarity with computers, computer printers, photocopy machines, fax machines, telephones, and modems. Ability to effectively communicate both in written form and verbally, especially on the telephone. Good command of the English language. Exceptional organization skills. Strong attention to detail and follow through. Good math skills.
