Description
The Associate Director of Annual Giving at Azusa Pacific University reports to the Director of Annual Giving. This position will have responsibility for a portfolio of annual giving prospects - those with the potential for gifts between $1,000 and $25,000.
Responsible for managing a portfolio of about 150-200 prospects, this position will focus on personal visits with as many of these prospects as possible to cultivate and solicit their annual giving in excess of $1,000 to the university fund:
Examples of Duties
- Make approximately 20 personal visits and 40 significant engagements with prospects each month to solicit gifts to the university fund at the President’s Circle level.
- Work to convert as many current President’s Circle level donors as possible to a program of three-year pledges to sustain their support for the University Fund.
- Work with the Director of Annual Giving and the Director of Prospect Research to produce the list of the best prospects under $1,000 for conversion to President’s Circle level annual giving.
- Collaborate with the Director of Prospect Research and major gift officers to identify and transfer donors who qualify as major gift prospects.
- Enter and maintain actions, notes, reports and other relevant information in the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Education
Baccalaureate or higher degree
Experience
Two years experience in fundraising. Direct experience in personal solicitations for annual giving or major giving preferred
Skills
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, to represent the university with a variety of donors and prospects. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, and thorough in planning all work around visits and steps to be taken to meet fundraising goals. Ability to work effectively with other staff members and campus representatives. Strong desire to succeed in a very visible and highly measurable position. Strong affinity with the mission of Azusa Pacific University. In addition, the Associate Director of Annual Giving must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends in support of the personal solicitation program and other advancement events where appropriate.
Details
Part-time, 20 hours per week.
