Client Services Coordinator (Part-time)
San Diego Regional Center
Description
The Regional Center Client Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising designated services for students, prospective students, and faculty of the regional center.
Examples of Duties
- Coordinates and supervises designated customer service functions of the regional center. Problem solves with faculty, students, other center staff, and center leadership. Works with the Regional Center Assistant Director and Regional Center Director to anticipate and prevent possible conflict situations.
- Coordinates enrollment of new students into graduate and/or credential programs and facilitates the registration of current and new students into appropriate classes.
- Directs routing of incoming telephone calls and “walk-in” prospective student inquiries. May provide initial academic advisement of prospective students under supervision of the Regional Center Director and/or academic program director.
- Accurately responds to student inquiries regarding such issues as (but not limited to) transfer of course units, course waivers, registration for classes, graduation requirements, financial aid, program and course prerequisites, student transcripts, independent study, graduate school admission requirements, academic calendar, course add/drop, etc.
- Collaborates regularly with appropriate program directors and department chairpersons for purposes of maintaining currency of information for programs offered at regional center of assignment.
- Provides staff support and assistance to the Regional Center Assistant Director and/or Regional Center Director as needed.
- Provides for inputting of prospective student inquiries into University’s data base system.
- Provides follow-up on prospective student inquiries by telephone and schedule initial advisement appointments with prospective students under direction of Regional Center Program Representatives.
- Facilitates transmission of information to student regarding academic program changes, student related deadlines, CBEST/CSET/GRE/RICA preparation courses, and availability of on-site librarian assistance.
- Contacts all non re-registering students each term and semester in order to determine reason for non re-registration, counsels with each student, and refers individual situations to Regional Center Director for further follow-up, as appropriate.
- Assists center-assigned faculty with duplication requests, classroom instructional equipment use, and related tasks.
- Verifies course enrollments each academic term and semester to ensure accuracy of enrollment data being provided to Graduate Center.
- May proctor students’ comprehensive examinations that are taken at Regional Center.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Regional Center Director.
Education
High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in an area of study related to the duties of this position preferred.
Experience
Three years of customer service experience. Four to seven years of experience in a client-centered higher education setting preferred.
Skills
Organizational, client centered, customer service, problem resolution, motivational, high verbal and written communication skills; exceptional listening skills. Ability to balance and process a variety of tasks and demands. Data entry/typing experience. Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information. Knowledge of office practices and computer operations.
Details
