About the Laptop Program
Program Advantages
Notice: The laptop program is no longer accepting new students; currently we are only finishing and renewing existing students.
The Laptop Program offers the following advantages to participants:
- Lease to Own
The program gives students a laptop to use for their first two years at APU. After two years, students can elect to remain in the laptop program and receive a new laptop for the subsequent two years. Upon graduation, the second laptop belongs to the student—with no additional fees or obligations. - Highest Quality PC and Apple Laptops
The laptops offered in the Laptop Program are from HP and Apple—two companies synonymous with quality. Our HP Notebook and Apple MacBook Pro model offer professional-level performance without sacrificing portability. Apple computers have been the industry standard for video production, graphic design, and music composition for many years, and HP business-level computers are regarded highly among professionals for their durability, functionality, and performance. Other manufacturers may offer laptops with comparable features, but the quality of HP and Apple computers is unmatched. - Designed for Life at APU
Our laptops are customized with APU students in mind. All models come with integrated 802.11b/g/n wireless and gigabit Ethernet for complete network connectivity at home, on campus, and in campus residences. In addition, all program laptops come with a standard software package including Microsoft Office Professional, Norton Anti-Virus, and a full suite of Internet applications and utilities (internet browsers, FTP software, etc.). - On-Campus Technical Support and Loaner Laptop
Members of the Laptop Program receive full technical support on campus from specially trained laptop program technicians. If a laptop cannot be repaired within 30 minutes, or if the laptop requires hardware repair, the student is issued a loaner laptop that is theirs to use until their laptop is repaired. If desired, the student’s files can be transferred from their laptop to the loaner.
