| I am feeling an overwhelming sensation that words do
not carry the weight or justice that I have hoped for in this momentous
time. Words such as excitement and joy fill my heart and mind as Jon
Wallace steps in as the next president of Azusa Pacific University.
I am so incredibly grateful that God has raised up such a man as Jon
to be our next leader. Praise be to God for His generous gift to the
university. Let's us all catch his vision of God honoring excellence.

| Congratulations, Dr. Wallace, on your selection as
president of Azusa Pacific University. With you as leader, I believe
APU is in the best of hands. Your love for God, and love and devotion
for your wife and children are the marks of a man who knows his priorities.
Fast following these has been your commitment to, and hard work in
support of, Azusa Pacific's mission. Your zeal for the church, concern
for implementing the school's motto of God First, love of students,
and support of faculty, staff, and administration in training young
men and women for service all over our rapidly changing world, have
been the hallmarks of your career. Your clarity of vision, ability
to communicate, and skill as a highly relational and unifying leader
are gifts from God that fit you for this task. You will have my faithful
support in prayer for these next exciting years as APU moves into
her second century. |

| Congratulations Jon! You have made an incredible
impact on the Azusa Pacific community and will continue to do so in
your new position as president. I have learned many lessons from you,
the most important being that the mark of a leader is an individual
who honors Christ in who they are and the excellence by which they
accomplish the assignment God has given them. Blessings on you and
your family as you transition into this new role. |
