I ask that all university employees scheduled to work on Monday, July 2, plan to participate in the day's activities. Below are some of the reasons for this day:
- Give back to God a day of prayer and reflection.
- The first day of the fiscal year is significant; it is the start of a new
business plan/strategic plan.
- A time to give thanks for the blessings of the last business year
- A time to ask for wisdom as we move into new business year
- A day of community we will share together in worship, teaching, and prayer. For many of us this will help during the long summer months without chapel.
The Program:
| 8 a.m. | Gathering of community for breakfast |
| 8:30 a.m. | Welcome and worship |
| 9 a.m. | "Setting the Table" Jon Wallace |
| 9:30 a.m. | Self-reflection, focus on our journeys, and a spiritual exercise |
| 11 a.m. | Worship and praise |
| 11:30 a.m. | What has God revealed today? |
| 12 p.m. | Lunch |
| 1:00 p.m. | Worship and praise |
| 1:20 p.m. | "From the Cross" Ted Engstrom |
| 1:40 p.m. | Scripture Search and Reflection |
| 2:30 p.m. | Community Sharing |
| 3 p.m. | Ice cream break |
| 3:30 p.m. | Worship and praise |
Our verse for the day is Jeremiah 17:7-8: "Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit." (New Living Translation)
Blessings,
Jon R. Wallace, DBA
