Keynote Speakers: T.A. Shippey, Ph.D., St. Louis University
Diana Pavlac Glyer, Ph.D., Azusa Pacific University
Thomas Parham, Ph.D., Azusa Pacific University

C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and several others forged a friendship that produced some of the most creative recent literature in the English language. But what was the nature of their friendship? How did these relationships form, develop, and bring forth the best from others in the group?

This conference, held February 7-9, 2008, at Azusa Pacific University, brings together leading experts on Lewis, Tolkien, and the Inklings for two days of reflection, lectures, and panel discussions. In addition to the invited speakers and paper presentations, the conference features a creative interpretation of the Inklings’ relationship in the short play, To the Ink Shed, by David Esselstrom, Ph.D. Learn more about the speakers.
