International Welcome Dinner (September)

This is our turn to honor you! One of the highlights of the year is the opportunity to welcome incoming and current international students to the new semester and new academic year.

International Chapel (Friday mornings during chapel)

More than 120 American and international students gather together for multicultural fellowship, worship, and great speakers.

Global Vision Week (November)

This week is set aside on campus to promote international and global awareness through internationally minded community chapels, forums, and activities.

Global Fest (Wednesday of Global Vision Week)

Through this international festival, the APU community celebrates its various ethnic backgrounds through food, clothing, art, and more. Activities also include live entertainment and cultural performances.

World Talent Show and Karaoke Night

Students compete for prizes on this night of vast variety. Acts include singing, cultural dances, music performances, comedy acts, and much more.

International Winter Retreat (December—near Yosemite National Park in Bass Lake, California)

After fall semester final exams, you may want to get away with other students on a trip of a lifetime to Yosemite. Students stay in large, cozy cabins near Yosemite National Park and participate in many American Christmas traditions. This retreat ranks among students' favorites.

Heritages United Together (H.U.T.) Potluck Dinner

H.U.T. is a major multicultural dinner event where more than 250 students, faculty, and staff share their cultural backgrounds through language, music, and food.

Annual Chinese New Year Celebration at ISS
Every year in early spring ISS hosts a celebration of the Chinese New Year. Both students and staff enjoy a festive time of fellowship and authentic Chinese food.

International Student Dinner at APU President’s Home

APU’s President Jon Wallace, DBA, welcomes all international students to his home for a night of warm fellowship, good food, and APU spirit.

ISS Trips in the L.A. Area

The Los Angeles area provides numerous entertainment opportunities and good weather year-round. The area offers beaches, mountains, deserts, and amusement parks (e.g., Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, etc.), plus a vast array of restaurants and museums. See related story: L.A. by Subway
