Doctoral Programs
All the application materials listed below must be submitted to International Enrollment Services (IES). Once an application is complete, the department of study will carefully review it and an admission decision will be made. There are intensive programs and regular term programs.- International Graduate Application Form*
- $65 (U.S.) nonrefundable application fee
- One recent photo of yourself
- Résumé showing work experience
- Writing sample essays
- Affidavit of Financial Support
- Current official bank statement
- Three reference letters
- Letter to the dean
- Official transcripts and posted bachelor’s or master’s degree sent directly from institution to APU
- Current TOEFL score, or equivalent
- Departmental interview may be required

3.0 on a 4.0 U.S. scale**TOEFL Requirements
A successful TOEFL score report is required for entrance into university graduate programs. For current paper-based TOEFL (PBT), computer-based TOEFL (CBT), and Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score requirements, please visit www.apu.edu/apply/int/grad/proficiency/.An official TOEFL score report must be sent by ETS directly to APU (school code is 4596) unless the medium of instruction during the university/college immediately preceding application was English for at least two full years without ESL classes. Other test score reports (GMAT, GRE, or CBEST) may be required for certain programs.
