Undergraduate Programs

All the required documents listed below must be submitted to the Office of International Enrollment Services (IES). Each application will be evaluated individually and the international admissions coordinator will notify each applicant during the application process and after the admission decision is made. GPA (grade-point average on a U.S. system) is an important factor for the admission process, but recommendation letters and essays will be carefully reviewed as well.

  • Two reference letters
  • Official transcripts sent directly from institution to APU
  • Current TOEFL score report, or equivalent

Minimum GPA

2.75 on a 4.0 U.S. scale**

TOEFL Requirements

A successful TOEFL score report is required for entrance into university undergraduate programs. For current paper-based TOEFL (PBT), computer-based TOEFL (CBT), and Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score requirements, please visit www.apu.edu/apply/int/ugrad/proficiency/.

An official TOEFL score report must be sent by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) directly to APU (school code is 4596) unless the medium of instruction in the high school immediately preceding application was English for at least two full years without ESL classes.**

Additional Test Requirements

SAT scores are not required for admission for international students, though, it may increase scholarship possibilities if qualified.

Transfer Guidelines

Transfer credits will be evaluated by the Office of the Undergraduate Registrar. At the time of application, submission of official course descriptions is necessary. The maximum number of transferable units into APU is 70 units from a junior college and 90 units from a university. The evaluation will be done on a course-by-course basis. Students will be required to take a minimum of 30 semester units at APU, including 15 upper-division units in their field of study. Courses graded lower than a C (on a U.S. scale) will not be transferable to APU.
