Ministry Options

There are a variety of ministry options available for your group, and all of them are deeply rooted in relationship. It is our hope that families from both sides of the border can come alongside one another and serve. Here are only some of the options available for your group:

  • Community Service Projects – There are always schools to be painted and streets to be cleaned; imagine partnering with a Mexican church to transform their community!
  • Social Agencies – There are numerous social agencies that need volunteer help. Your group, along with the Mexican church, could donate your time to help one of these agencies
  • Church Beautification Projects – Many churches have simple clean-up and light construction that needs to be done. Your group could partner with the church to help them with those projects
  • On-site Work Projects – We have a lot of work projects at our camp (Rancho El Refugio). If your group would like to prepare The Ranch to host future ministries, we can use anyone from skilled laborers (plumbers, foremen, electricians, etc.) to unskilled help. If your group can hold a hammer, we can put them to work.
  • Cooking Ministry – This is a unique opportunity where American and Mexican women can work side by side to make a tamale feast to be donated to the community while children play together and men serve together on a work project.
  • Arts and Crafts Ministry - Maybe your group has some “crafty” people who would like to share some of their abilities with the local Mexican church and show others how to make some crafts that could be sold as fund raisers
  • Many more – Your group will have its own strengths. Figure out how they can be used to build lasting relationships with the Mexican churches and let us know so we can work something out

Make sure to bring about $200-$300 per church group for the incidentals your ministry site might incur!

Ultimately, whatever type of ministry your group decides to pursue, the success of your group will depend on its ability to be flexible. There might be things that your group did not prepare for and there might be difficulties that arise. But God is faithful to your group and that will not change, even in another country.
