1. How many interpreters do we need?
We recommend one interpreter for every 5 or 6 people.2. Does Mexico Outreach provide interpreters?
Mexico Outreach gets calls occasionally from interested interpreters, but it is the individual church's responsibility to find their own interpreters.3. What are some of the responsibilities of an interpreter?
An interpreter serves as a team member who is a bridge builder between cultures, countries, and churches. This means there is more than just language to translate. The translator protects & guides both his/her team members and the people he/she are working with from miscommunication.4. Does the interpreter have to pay a fee?
The interpreter pays a discounted fee of $139, but if Mexico Outreach provides an interpreter, the church will pay the fee and the interpreter will go for free(travel expenses may be negotiated with the sponsoring US church).5. What are the requirements to be an interpreter for Mexico Outreach?
- Have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Have a servant's heart.
- Be flexible - understand that there are many unplanned circumstances that may happen.
- Be ready to support the team, understanding that you have a very important gift that serve's as an advantage with communicating in Mexico.
- Be available - Your team members will have need of you all times, anytime.
- Be fluent enough to interpret a sermon or message (approximately 70-100% fluent).
