Monica Lima was born and raised in sunny Palm Springs, California. While trying to escape the heat, she became involved in all types of water sports including her favorite, water polo. She graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Business Administration and a Leadership Minor. After graduating, she felt a call to serve and teach English in China to grades 1-5 and she discovered a passion for people, culture, and sharing the gospel through love and service. Upon returning from China, Monica got a taste of the American education system while teaching fifth grade in San Diego for two years.

Through her work as a graduate assistant in OWM and the master’s program in College Counseling and Student Development, Monica is able to explore her passion to work with the development of college students. When she is not working, exercising, or in class she can normally be found watching Survivor, spending time with friends, grabbing a cup of coffee, traveling overseas, or trying anything that involves a good adventure!
