Ryan Hernandez is a youth ministry major who transferred to APU in spring 2007. In his first semester at APU, Ryan connected with OWM and joined a summer missions team to South Africa, Kayamandi. In 2006, he went to the province of Udon Thani, Thailand.
Ryan became a Christian in 2005 during his last semester in high school. By that winter, Ryan was serving on the missions committee at Oaks Community Church in Bakersfield. He doesn’t know where his love for the nations comes from, but he has a good idea that it comes from the Lord. Ryan prayed a prayer as a young Christian: “Lord Jesus, please grant my heart to have even the slightest amount of love that You have for Your people.”
Ryan cannot fathom how Jesus Christ will use APU to impact the nations with the message of Christ in 2008. His prayer is that those that return from their missions trip will not be afraid to take action and be a voice for the beautiful country in which they served.
