Designing Significant Learning Experiences - Presenter: Joyce Lacy
This mini-workshop will cover the Dee Fink model of integrated course design which aims to shift teaching from a content-center approach, often embodied as a list of topics covered in the course, towards a learning-centered approach, which emphasizes deliberately identifying what students should be learning and how to facilitate that learning. Specifically, we will be focusing on learning goals, feedback and assessment, and teaching/learning activities. Come with a course in mind that you want to modify and be prepared to engage your colleagues in discussion!
