Berger Computer Training Center
Overview
The Berger Computer Training Center is an instructional technology classroom that contains 21 PC workstations, an instructor station with projector and screen, and screen capturing software.
Berger is primarily used for library instruction but may also be reserved by APU faculty and staff, subject to the following conditions.
Reservation Information
Reservation requests must be submitted two weeks in advance and only by using the online form. Phone or email reservations will not be accepted. The request is for the lab only.
Blackout Dates
During the first six weeks of each semester, the Technology Training Centers are reserved for library faculty use only.
Instruction by Library Faculty
If you would like to have a subject specialist work with your class or group, you must contact your specialist directly or use the online library instruction request form. This reservation request is for the lab only.
Reservation Priority
The technology training centers will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis in the priority order below:
Priority One: Information literacy sessions by library faculty
Priority Two: Registrar scheduled courses by arrangement with library administration
Priority Three: Other faculty/staff/student information literacy sessions
Priority Four: Sessions that do not require technology use
Priority Five: Non-APU sessions unless by special arrangement with library administration
Key and Access
During the hours Darling Library is open, you may request that the Berger lab (DAR 407) be opened by the library staff at the desk located in the Ahmanson Information Center (DAR 300). For access to Berger during hours when Darling Library is closed, make arrangements with Campus Safety at (626) 815-6000, Ext. 3898 prior to your session.
Food and Beverages
Food and covered beverages are allowed in Berger. Please throw away all trash and clean up spills before you leave.
Technology Problems
Please report any problems with the equipment or software in the training centers to the IMT Support Desk. Please send a request to support@apu.edu or contact the IMT Support Desk at (626) 815-5050 or extension 5050 from on campus.
