Azusa Pacific University's West Campus is home to Haggard Graduate School of Theology, and the Schools of Nursing, Behavioral and Applied Sciences, and Education, as well as the Department of Computer Science, numerous classrooms and faculty offices, administrative facilities, the state-of-the-art Hugh and Hazel Darling Library, Heritage Court, and the University Bookstore. West Campus is also the site for APU's theater, where audiences enjoy the many plays and musicals produced by APU Theater.
The 3,500-seat Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center opened in December 2000 and has since been the host location for various APU special events, including Cougar athletics competitions, chapel gatherings, and community events like high school graduations and concerts.
West Campus is also home to the John and Marilyn Duke Academic Complex. This two-story, 8,926-square foot structure houses the 50,000-volume James L. Stamps Theological Library, 12 smart classrooms with Internet access, 40 faculty offices, 6 seminar rooms, and a lecture hall.
Throughout the day, the courtyard area becomes a veritable marketplace. Students, faculty, and staff alike flock to this popular campus spot to study in the sun, eat lunch at the outdoor seating arena, or gather for an informal meeting.
West Campus’ newest addition occurred in fall 2007 with the completion of the Barbara and Jack Lee Place of Prayer, featuring trees, fountains, and a stone wall where the APU community can place prayer requests. The area’s centerpiece is the 70-foot Cornerstone Tower, composed of four columns representing APU’s cornerstones of Christ, Scholarship, Community and Service.
