Additional Opportunities
Dinner Rally
This annual fundraising event partners alumni and current students as they explore
APU’s century-old commitment to keep God First,
highlight those who have impacted the lives of others, and join efforts to thank
those who give so generously to make the APU experience possible. Volunteers
engage in set-up, food service, and tear down at the end of the night.

other places, and experience the gift of serving others. Students may participate
in short-term missions during Christmas vacation and summer. During the 2001-02
school year, approximately 215 students, faculty, staff, and alumni participated

Mexico Outreach
IOM, under the leadership of executive director Carolyn Koons for more than
30 years, leads thousands of students to Mexico each spring and fall. As a high
school student, Koons’ life changed on a mission trip to Mexico with her
youth group. In 1970, she began her mission to do the same for other high school,
junior high, and college students throughout the U.S. and Canada. These students
spend a week of their vacation ministering in Mexico in partnership with the
Mexican community. Thanksgiving in Ensenada and Easter vacation in both Mexicali
and Ensenada include ministry opportunities such as Vacation Bible School, sports
outreach, work projects, women’s ministry, and specialized performance
teams.
