WHO:
Azusa Pacific University’s School of Music welcomes Steven Stucky, a widely recognized composer and winner of the Pulitzer-Prize in Music.

WHAT:
Stucky will work with and coach the APU Symphony Orchestra on Jeu de Timbres, a piece he wrote for the National Symphony in Washington DC. The Symphony Orchestra will perform the West Coast premiere at the spring concert on March 31.

FACTS:
Stucky received the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in Music for his Second Concerto for Orchestra. Renowned as one of the leading composers today, he has written custom-made works for many of the key American orchestras and ensembles.
Newly-appointed chairman of the board of the American Music Center, Stucky also teaches at Cornell University, where he serves as Given Foundation Professor of Composition. He has also been connected to the Los Angeles Philharmonic for more than 20 years, and currently serves as consulting composer for new music.
