WHAT:
Azusa Pacific University's softball team hosts the annual youth softball day camp this summer. The camp offers youth an opportunity to improve skills and have fun with training in several areas including: base running, speed, strength and agility, defense, catching, and more.
WHO:
Open to boys and girls ages 6-18. Participants will be grouped according to age and experience.
WHEN:
Wed., June 23, 9 a.m.
WHERE:
Azusa Pacific University Softball Field, West Campus
701 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa, CA 91702 (North side of Foothill Blvd. at Cerritos Ave.)
COST:
$100 for all sessions or $20 per session (including camp T-shirt and lunch)
SCHEDULE:
9 a.m.: Base running, speed, strength and agility
10 a.m.: Defense- catching, fielding and throwing
11 a.m.: Offense- hitting, slapping and bunting
12-1 p.m.: Lunch
1:30 p.m.: Pitching and catching (or specific position training with the coaches)
2:30 p.m.: Hit live off a professional softball player/pitcher, Gina Oaks
