WHO:

Azusa Pacific University’s Department of English welcomes former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins as the keynote speaker in the James L. Hedges Distinguished Lecture Series.

Collins, U.S. Poet Laureate from 2001-03, has been called by the New York Times the most “popular poet in America.” He has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation.

WHAT:

The James L. Hedges Distinguished Lecture Series exists to celebrate the written word through a series of endowed lectures by writers and literary critics of national stature. The lecture series honors one of APU’s finest professors, James L. Hedges, professor of English from 1974-2005.
