Glendora resident David Parsons III, a 2009 Azusa Pacific University graduate, in support of GRANTS WISHES, Inc., a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children battling cancer relapse.
What:
Parsons will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for “The Most Hugs Given in 24 Hours by an Individual.” Through sponsored hugs, he hopes to raise a minimum of $100,000 for GRANTS WISHES. Parsons lost his friend Sharon Perkins, a 2008 APU graduate, to cancer two years ago. Inspired to carry on her legacy and change the world one hug at a time, he seeks to bring hope to children battling cancer.
When:
Event begins at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, and ends at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, National Hug Day.
