WHO:
The Greater Los Angeles Area Council of Boy Scouts and Azusa Pacific University partner together to host the Fourth Annual STEM/Nova Day. This year Girl Scouts will also participate in the event. APU’s faculty and students will lead sessions in the state-of-the-art Sergerstrom science labs for 500 participants between 1st and 12th grades.
WHAT:
This year’s theme is “The Science of Energy.” Activities for Boy and Girl Scouts will include: animation, chemistry, electricity, insect study, nuclear science, robotics, geology, movie making, engineering, and more.
The STEM/Nova Awards program incorporates learning with hands–on activities and exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program aims to stimulate interest through awards in STEM-related fields and demonstrates how these fields apply to everyday life.
