AZUSA, Calif. – More than 700 students will graduate from Azusa Pacific University on Sat., Dec. 13 at the university's winter commencement ceremonies. The ceremonies feature 222 bachelor's degree, 296 master's degree, and 160 degree completion recipients. Forty-four individuals will receive doctoral degrees.
- Undergraduate and adult and professional studies ceremony at 10 a.m.
- Graduate ceremony at 3 p.m.
- Ceremonies held in the Richard and Vivian Felix Event Center, West Campus, at 701 E. Foothill Blvd., in Azusa.
This year's undergraduate keynote speaker Bruce Baloian, Ph.D., professor of biblical studies, has served at APU since 1979, earning the Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award in 1990 and the Chase A. Sawtell Inspirational Faculty Award in 1993.
Graduate keynote speaker Ken Smitherman, LL.D. is the president of the Association of Christian Schools International of Colorado Springs, Colo. as well as president of the Board for Council of American Private Education. He has served in Christian education since 1970.
