The Princeton Review named Azusa Pacific University one of the best colleges in the West for the sixth consecutive year.

APU is one of 121 institutions recommended in the “Best Western Colleges” section of the 2011 Best Colleges, released on August 1. The rankings are broken down by region: the Northeast, the Southeast, the Midwest, and the West. Within each region, institutions are selected based on many factors, including academic excellence, campus life, and student feedback. Collectively, the 629 colleges chosen constitute about 25 percent of the nation's universities.

“The Princeton Review ranking is one of many indicators that identify Azusa Pacific University as a quality institution of higher education,” said APU Provost Mark Stanton, Ph.D. “This recognition affirms our commitment to excellence in scholarship and the teaching-learning relationship that is so important to the development of students who will make a difference in our world.”

According to one student’s feedback on The Princeton Review’s website, Azusa Pacific University provides a “community of learners through an education centered around individualized attention and teachers that cater to your learning style.”

The Princeton Review’s 62 ranking lists are based on multiple surveys given to college students that are conducted during the school year. The surveys have more than 80 questions, including everything from “How many out-of-class hours do you spend studying each day?” to “How do you rate your campus food?” Some questions on the survey are open-ended and offer students the opportunity to answer with narrative responses.
