Azusa, Calif.— The Azusa Pacific University Theater begins its 2012–13 season with the production Merrily We Roll Along, October 4–6 and October 11–13 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee showings on October 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 2 p.m. All performances take place at the APU Theater, located in the Mary Hill Center, on APU’s West Campus, at 701 E. Foothill Blvd., in Azusa.

Merrily We Roll Along begins in the present and moves backward, tracing the lives of wealthy, seemingly successful composer Franklin Shepard and his two estranged friends through each milestone of their personal and professional lives, both good and bad. The show ends with a touch of irony as the three best friends face a bright future—young, talented, and enthusiastic about the worlds waiting to be conquered. This touching and hilarious show brings into perspective the importance and complexity of lifelong friendship and shows the many ways in which our every day decisions ultimately determine our future.

APU’s Merrily We Roll Along is directed by Monica Ganas, professor and co-chair in APU’s Department of Theater, Film, and Television and a 30-year-veteran of the entertainment industry, as an actor, writer, and occasional producer/director. Ganas will deliver a pre-show lecture on Thurs., October 4, in the Black Box Theater located next to the Warehouse Theater Main Stage on APU’s West Campus.
