Azusa, Calif.— The Azusa Pacific University Theater finishes its 2012–13 season with the production Hello, Dolly!, April 4–6, April 11–13, and April 18–20 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee showings on April 6, 13, and 20 at 2 p.m. All performances take place at the APU Theater, located in the Mary Hill Center, on APU’s West Campus, at 701 E. Foothill Blvd., in Azusa.
Hello, Dolly! tells the story of the irrepressible matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi and her attempt to arrange a marriage for the miserly half-millionaire, Horace Vandergelder. Somehow she manages to find him the perfect mate—herself! But first she must win the heart of her unsuspecting “husband to be” before he gets hitched to somebody else. Join Dolly on a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the 20th century, following the adventures of America's most beloved matchmaker!
APU’s Hello, Dolly! is directed and choreographed by Rhonda Kohl who also choreographed APU's productions of Merrily We Roll Along and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Kohl is a member of the Actor's Co-op Theatre Company in Hollywood where she recently directed Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park.
