WHO:

My Rescue, an Azusa Pacific University student–run group focused on raising funds for nonprofit organizations that help liberate victims of sex trafficking.

WHAT:

A fashion show and a silent auction/raffle to raise funds for Rapha House and Worldteam Foundation. The event also features videos, stories from survivors, live music provided by APU’s Kaleo band, and complementary coffee and desserts.

Rapha House works with local authorities in countries all over the world to rescue exploited and trafficked children. Rapha provides children with safe houses, food, and psychological and social services. Rapha also offers vocational training, giving children the skills to reintegrate into society.

Worldteam Foundation seeks to fight sex trafficking through prevention, intervention, and restoration. Worldteam Foundation hosts seminars and events to raise awareness of this issue. They intervene in situations where exploitation occurs by hosting seminars to help spot sex–trafficked victims, working within the local community, and mentoring at–risk youth and families. They also operate Child Restoration Centers.
