Ernest L. Boyer Teacher Scholarship Awarded at APU

AZUSA, Calif. – Katheryn Ross of Portland, Ore. received the seventh annual Ernest L. Boyer Sr. Teacher Scholarship Award, presented by Azusa Pacific University’s School of Education and Behavioral Studies. Ross, a Liberal Studies major, received a certificate and $1,500 scholarship towards continuing her education at APU where she is enrolled in the Multiple Subject Credential Program to become a teacher.
The Ernest L. Boyer Sr. Teacher Scholarship Award is funded by the Boyer Center, which provides five awards annually at universities across the country. Established in memory of the late Ernest Boyer, who served as president of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the scholarship is awarded to students who exemplify the characteristics that Boyer believed essential to becoming a good teacher.
APU’s School of Education and Behavioral Studies offers degrees in Advanced Studies in Education, College Student Affairs and Leadership Studies, School Administration, Physical Education, Clinical Psychology, School Counseling and School Psychology, and Teacher Education; doctorates in Educational Administration and Psychology; as well as numerous certificates and credentials.
