Student Art Exhibit: The Dubious Simon Umlat

November 7, 2005

AZUSA, Calif. –

On Nov. 8, from 6-9 p.m., San Jose, Calif. resident and Azusa Pacific University student Bradley Robinson hosts an art exhibit, The Dubious Simon Umlat. Bradley’s art show contains eight pieces and designs set in acrylic and pencil.

Robinson has worked with acrylic for five years, while also taking university courses in painting and drawing. The novel Last Exit to Brooklyn, by Hubert Selby; the music of The Decemberists, Architecture in Helsinki, and Sufjan Stevens; and the work of artists Carson Ellis and Edward Gorey inspired him for his upcoming show. He also draws inspiration from reading narratives and incorporating dark humor into his artwork and illustrative pieces.

Robinson’s show runs from Nov. 7-18, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. in the Red Zone, located on West Campus at 701 E. Foothill Blvd. A reception takes place on Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m.
