APU Professor Honored with Inspirational Faculty Award

AZUSA, Calif. –
Fullerton, Calif. resident Roger Conover, Ph.D., an associate professor of business at Azusa Pacific University, received the 2007 Chase A. Sawtell Inspirational Faculty Award.
The award, honoring the late Chase A. Sawtell, Ph.D., highlights a faculty member who demonstrates exceptional motivational and relationship skills and challenges students spiritually and academically. Conover will receive a $2,000 reward accompanied by an attractive clock.
"Dr. Conover has given his time to students by mentoring, traveling to seminars, and spending countless hours helping them determine which classes they need in order to graduate on time," said Paul Gray, Ed.D., vice provost for academic affairs and dean of the university libraries. "He is a role model for all young men desiring to be a Christian in the business world."
Conover holds a B.A. from Grinnell College, Grinell, Iowa. He earned an M.A. from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside. Conover has taught various business courses at APU since 1991, and is described by Ilene Bezjian, DBA, dean of the School of Business and Management as "the person who keeps our feet on the floor, firmly anchored to reality."
