APU's Forensics Team Hosts the Best in the West

APU and Modesto Junior College host the 2005 California Double-Up, a speech and debate tournament for some of the top schools in the west.

Fri., Oct. 21, 12-9 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 22, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 23, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

This event serves as an excellent opportunity for some of the best and brightest college students to debate important political and social issues.
FACTS:
- APU's Forensics Team will compete on Sunday only.
- Last year's tournament brought more than 100 debate teams from 35 colleges and universities in California and Arizona. This year's tournament includes teams from: University of California, Berkeley; University of California, Davis; Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, Calif.; Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff; Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif.; and many more.
- Forensics tournaments include competitions in debate, humorous speeches, dramatic monologues, two person monologues, improvisational speaking, and extemporaneous speaking.
