APU Launches First-Ever Economic Summit

On Thurs., Nov. 8, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Azusa Pacific University's School of Business and Management will host the first-ever Economic Summit, a significant academic milestone for the university which compliments the school’s new Bachelor of Arts in Economics Program.

The summit includes presentations and discussions surrounding relevant economic issues and foreign affairs by students and renowned guest speakers from across the nation, offering attendees a unique perspective to economic and political issues of today.

“The Economic Summit will educate participants of the ways economic freedom can lead to prosperity in a nation,” said Sir Patrick Duffy, Ph.D., former member of British Parliament and current defense analyst. Duffy, keynote speaker for the event, will present “The Future Relationship of the U.S. and China.” He is currently serving as a scholar-in-residence in the School of Business and Management.

Additional speakers include Becky Norton Dunlop, vice president of the Heritage Foundation; David Henderson, Ph.D., research fellow at the Hoover Institute; Richard Ebeling, Ph.D., president of the Foundation for Economic Education; and Anna Ebeling, Ph.D., director of research for the Foundation for Economic Education.

The summit takes place in Upper Turner Campus Center located on APU’s East Campus, at 901 E.
