Annual Faith and Media Arts Festival Prepares Students for Industry Work

WHAT:
The Department of Theatre, Film, & Television will celebrate its launch with the fourth annual Faith and Media Arts Festival on October 8, 2005. Christian industry professionals such as Benedict Fitzgerald, co-writer of The Passion of the Christ, and Barbara Nicolosi, executive director of Act One, will join APU faculty to lead panels and workshops on topics such as acting, TV and film production, and screenwriting. In addition, participants may view recently completed student films from Los Angeles-area Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) schools.

APU's Black Box Theatre, located in the Mary Hill Center on APU's West Campus

WHEN:
Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m., with panels and workshops occurring throughout the day.
WHY:
"This event brings in professionals to assist students as they take the final step from APU into the entertainment industry," said Bart McHenry, department chair.
FACTS:
- This fall, APU's Department of Communication Studies. split in two to better meet program needs. The new Department of Theatre, Film, & Television now consists of the Theatre Arts Program and Cinema and Broadcast Arts Program.
