January Concerts at APU

Monday, January 14
Artist Concert Series: Aaron Judisch, baritone and Timothy Schwarz, piano

Aaron Judisch is recognized by The Houston Chronicle as offering "vibrant, wide-eyed singing" with "music and language that provoked a clarity and focus that made the part come alive." He received a B.A. from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa and an M.M. from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois where he worked with esteemed artists including: Sherrill Milnes, Mignon Dunn, and William Warfield. During this time he also made his debut with Chicago Opera Theater.

Timothy Schwarz, pianist and conductor, is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and the University of Washington where he completed his Master of Music as well as extensive doctoral studies in both piano and conducting. He is currently the head opera coach and conductor at the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg in Germany.

The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Munson Chapel, located on APU's East Campus at 901 E. Alosta Ave., Azusa, Calif. Admission is free.

Gospel Choir

The APU Gospel Choir conducted by Letitia Ugwueke, will perform music by Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, as well as original compositions by APU alumnus Marques Nelson ('07). The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Munson Chapel. Admission is free.

APU's School of Music offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music with emphases in theory, applied music (performance), education, commercial music, and church music; a Bachelor of Music in Performance; and Master of Music degrees in Music Education, Conducting, and Performance.
