Una Lee Jost Named New Assistant General Counsel

December 7, 2007

AZUSA, Calif. –

Azusa Pacific University has named Pasadena, Calif. resident Una Lee Jost, JD, assistant general counsel for the Office of General Counsel, effective November 2007. As assistant general counsel, Jost provides a high-level professional legal service by representing and advising APU on a broad range of legal matters. Her responsibilities include negotiating, drafting, and reviewing university contracts in all subject matters, as well as overseeing insurance matters and some international legal compliance issues.

"We are thrilled that Una has joined our legal department. Her outstanding record at Loyola Law School and her experience in L.A. law firms have prepared her well for her service at APU, but it is her heart for advancing God’s kingdom that makes her a perfect fit," said Mark Dickerson, JD, general counsel.

Jost expressed her excitement in joining the APU community. "God is doing many exciting things through the faculty, staff, and students to bless the lives of those at APU, the surrounding communities, and the rest of the world. As assistant general counsel, I am truly humbled and grateful to have a part in that."

Jost brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked for six years as a litigator in Los Angeles law firms handling a wide variety of civil matters. She received a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Riverside. Jost also earned a JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, Calif., where she served as an articles editor on Law Review. Her expertise includes civil litigation, insurance, and matters of risk management.
