AZUSA, Calif. –

Azusa Pacific University welcomes Tim Peck, D.Min, as the new director of chapel programs. Chosen from among 40 candidates, Peck will play an integral part in the APU community by giving vision and leadership to APU's chapel experience, which consists of more than 80 chapel sessions that impact more than 4,000 undergraduate students each year.

As the new director, Peck hopes to bring chapel experiences that are culturally relevant, biblically anchored, and spiritually transformative for participants.

"This position blends two of my deepest passions, which are Christian higher education and spiritual transformation," said Peck. "As director, I have the opportunity to blend them into one setting."

The Office of Chapel Programs encourages students to maintain an intimate, personal relationship with God by providing challenging, biblically-based teaching. Peck's role as director helps to coordinate and plan meaningful activities that brings students closer to this objective.

"Tim's education, experience as a lead pastor, and his heart for communicating to our students left no doubt as to his ability to provide the kind of leadership necessary to take APU Chapel Programs to the next level in the years ahead," said Terry Franson, Ph.D., senior vice president of student life and dean of students.

Peck received a Master of Divinity from Biola University's Talbot School of Theology in La Habra, Calif. He obtained a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. Peck, the father of four boys, served in pastoral ministry over 17 years. He was most recently the pastor and mentor for the Kern Center for Vocational Ministry, part of APU's Haggard School of Theology, as well as an adjunct lecturer since January 2004.
